This privacy policy explains what information is collected when you visit Explore Venture World (exploreventureworld.com), how it is used, which third-party services are involved and what choices you have. We keep the site simple: there are no user accounts, no registration, no comment section and no newsletter sign-up.

Who We Are

Explore Venture World is a travel website publishing destination guides and travel stories. For any question about this policy or your personal data, contact us by email at [email protected].

Information We Collect

Information You Send Us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write or attach (for example a correction, a story pitch or photos). We use this only to read and answer your message and, where you ask us to, to consider your submission for publication.

Server Logs

Like almost every website, our web server automatically records basic technical data for each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and device type. These logs are used to keep the site running, diagnose errors and protect it against abuse.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We do not set cookies to identify you personally, but the analytics and advertising services described below place their own cookies and similar identifiers (such as pixels and local storage) to measure visits and show ads.

Third-Party Services We Use

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site: which pages are read, how people arrive, roughly where they are located (country or city level) and what device they use. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes your IP address to produce these statistics. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Google AdSense

The site is funded by ads served through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure their performance and, where allowed, personalize them based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

You can turn off personalized ads from Google in Google Ads Settings. Other participating ad companies can be controlled at aboutads.info (US) and youronlinechoices.eu (EU). If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will be less relevant to you.

Meta Pixel

We use the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram), which records page views on our site. This helps us measure visits from our social media channels and may allow Meta to show you related content or ads on its platforms. Meta processes this data under its own privacy policy, and you can manage ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.

Yandex Metrica

We use Yandex Metrica, a web analytics service from Yandex, to measure traffic and see how pages are used. Yandex Metrica uses cookies and records clicks, link clicks and scrolling. Its Webvisor feature records sessions, meaning how the mouse moves, where you click and scroll, and possibly text typed into the site search box, so we can see how visitors use a page and fix layout problems. We do not use it to identify individual visitors. You can block it with the Yandex Metrica opt-out add-on.

Embedded Fonts

Our typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser details as part of that request.

How We Use Information

  • To run, secure and improve the website and fix technical problems.
  • To understand which guides are useful so we can update and expand them.
  • To show ads that fund the site, including personalized ads where permitted.
  • To reply to emails and consider submissions you send us.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We keep emails only as long as needed to handle your request, and the third-party services above keep data according to their own retention settings and policies.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, data protection laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) may give you rights over your personal information. These can include the right to know what data is held about you, to access, correct or delete it, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of the use of your data for targeted advertising.

Because we do not run user accounts, most analytics and advertising data is held by the providers above rather than by us, and we usually cannot link it to you. To exercise your rights with us, email [email protected]; for data held by Google, Meta or Yandex, use their privacy tools as well. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Managing Cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use private browsing, or install content blockers. You can also use the opt-out links listed above for Google Analytics, Google ads and Yandex Metrica. Blocking cookies will not stop you from reading any guide on this site.

International Data Transfers

The services we use are run by companies that may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. These providers are responsible for applying appropriate safeguards under their own policies.

Children’s Privacy

This website is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Our guides link to official tourism sites, attractions and other external pages. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control, so please review their policies when you visit them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the site or the services we use change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised, and the current version will always be published here.
